         Program Tracks and Certificate Program

The mission of The Light Factory is to promote the power of image.  The mission of the School of Photography and Film is to teach you to harness the power of image, see your world differently, and use photography and filmmaking to express yourself.

The Light Factory School of Photography and Film offers certificates of completion for students who accomplish courses in specific program tracks.  Certificates acknowledge students for commitment to and improvement in General Photography, Fine Art Black & White Photography, Fine Art Digital Photography, Commercial Photography, and/or Digital Filmmaking.  To learn more about these Program Tracks, click here or download the Program Track Descriptions.

The Light Factory offers hands-on classes with professional practitioners in filmmaking and both the fine art and commercial worlds of photography.  Click here to see a list of the photography courses.  Click here to see a list of filmmaking courses.  To see a list of the courses needed to complete each track, click here or download the Program Track Course Matrix.  Please note that all the courses may not be offered at the same time; The Light Factory understands that substitutions will occur.

Students will meet with the certificate committee prior to receipt of their certificate.  Students must pass a portfolio review in order to receive their certificate, to ensure that, in the spirit of our mission, each student has met a level of improvement and accomplishment in their work.  Please note that The Light Factory School of Photography and Film is not an accredited university or college.  

Each student will receive a certificate for finishing a class, but only Certificates of Completion will be awarded for finishing a Program Track.
