Admission: Free and open to the public
“Beware of the Blob! It creeps, and leaps, and glides and slides across the floor.”
A huge meteor crashes to earth and begins exuding a pink, gooey substance. Affixing itself to the body of an old man, the “blob” begins parasitically sucking the life out of several unfortunate humans, growing to an enormous size. This film helped to launch the careers of Steve McQueen, who plays one of the teenagers trying to warn the town against the “blob’s” attack, and of Burt Bacharach, with his hit single “Beware of the Blob”. Not rated; 83 minutes
TRASH HUMPERS [2010] directed by Harmony Korine
Tuesday, Sept. 14
8 PM
Knight Gallery (Spirit Square)
Admission: Free and open to the public
Presented by Cinematastic and The Light Factory, TRASH HUMPERS follows a small group of elderly semi-mutants through the shadows and margins of an unfamiliar world. Crudely documented by the participants themselves, we follow the debased and shocking actions of a group of true sociopaths the likes of which have never been seen before.
